The movie was formally revealed by its producers, Seven Screen Studios, on January 30, 2023. It had been created for over a month. The shooting got started on January 2, 2023, and is scheduled to end in May of that same year.
Initially going by the working title Thalapathy 67, Lokesh revealed the official title “Leo” on February 3, 2023. The movie is promoted as a continuation of the Loki filmography.

It sold digital rights to Netflix for Rs 150 crore (all languages), satellite rights to Sun Tv for Rs 80 crore, and music rights to Sony Music for Rs 18 crore.
